Well we have now passed the 5th full moon since Gord's stroke. I cannot believe it has been 4 full months of day to day attention. It is amazing how that time just flies by and the only indicators I can really see are the number of times I have to attend to haircuts for us both and various other things like the jam jar magically becoming empty and cream for coffee needing to be picked up. I think I have been kind of like a robot over the past months. However, today I looked out the window to see green leaves sprouting on the trees and my heart just soared. Also the ice had receded on the lake overnight and I can now see open water. So beautiful!
I tried to send you all a video of Gord's walking yesterday but it would not upload for me. I will try a shorter one to send soon.
We are plodding along and with the greening of the fields it is making our travels back and forth much more pleasant.
Here are a few pictures from yesterday where Gord is working on therapy for his right arm and leg.
Talk soon,
Love to all
Sheila
Ahhhhh Spring! The feeling never changes year after year. One wants to walk, plant, visit, and most of all just enjoy and especially this year: be thankful it finally came :) Bigs hugs to the both of you. Thanks for the pics and thanks for keeping in touch. LY Ev

To post a comment write the comment and then go below where it says "Comment as:" and put Anonymous. Hit "Post Comment". Hopefully that works. I am just experimenting so bear with me. You also have to copy the word script as it appears. Not sure why but some safety thing.
ReplyDeleteI just did it successfully so it does work . The key is to go in as Anonymous where it says select profile. Be sure to put your name in the body of the comment though so we know who is writing! Thanks.

Hi Sheila and Gord,
ReplyDeleteI too am keeping up with your progress through your blog and I am delighted to see you doing so well Gord. I can only imagine that it is very hard work. Sheila I am getting to know you a little more through your postings and my conclusion is that you are one fabulous, caring, determined person. I am sure Gord knows how lucky he is to have you on his team. Hang in there both of you. Your progress up close may not be so obvious but you are both incredible. You mentioned 5 full moons, in the grand scheme of things, it is a very short period of time and the distance you've covered is unbelievable. I too hope that you will both get back to your beloved Maui for the winter. My love to you both.
Your cousin, Joanna XXOO
Aloha Gord and Sheila
ReplyDeleteWe travel home tomorrow and arrive on friday around noon. Just in time for the long weekend. I imagine you tow will have a houseful.
We met Jeff and his family as well as Jed. They were lovely to meet. It sounds like everything is progressing with the condo construction.
your couch is safely stored in our garage. I did put the cushions back inside the plastic with the coauch. I had them in the storage room in the house but I did not want you to pick up the couch and not know where they were. By the way the couch is beautiful. Lovely color.
I was reading a story about Bob Woodruff(He was a news anchor covering the war in Iraq)and he was injured and suffered a serious brain injury. His wife has wrote a book about her experiences during his recovery. It is called Perfectly Imperfect.
Warm wishes Gord and Sheila
