New therapy tried on Gord today

Today,Gord was the guinea pig for a new leg device to stimulate muscle movement in the deficient leg. There is a sensor place below the knee as you can see in the photo, and also one on his heel. It is programmed into a computer that takes all his movements and then inputs into the device on his leg. When he walks it helps lift his foot to create a more normal walk. I am attaching a video I took today with the device on his leg but I don't think it was working properly yet. They seemed to have technical problems so it may take a while to perfect. Gord exercised his patience while going through this experiment for about 2 hours.

I am also sending out a picture taken on June 23 when his brothers and sister surprised him with a visit. They are just coming back to the cabin from a walk together. Brothers are Richard and Gary and sister is Diane. Wayne - the other brother could not make it to the gathering and we missed him! He did phone though and that meant a lot to Gord. This is when family really counts!!!! Enjoy the pictures!

Love
Sheila

  1. Good Morning

I just showed Leni the video of you walking and he said if you keep it up you'll be able to Bend It Like Beckham. (mivie about a soccer player in case you did not know)
He is off to go fishing today so hopefully he will catch some salmon and Halibut.
I am going to his family reunion this weekend. So we should both have a fun weekend.
Keep up the hard work Gord and Sheil. It is definately a team effort. There is nothing like the love and support of your family.
Enjoy your weekend at the lake It looks like the rain has stopped for a while
    Take Care

  2. Fantastic to see Gord, Diane, Gary and Richard together. Indeed "family counts" and I'm sure they were able to buoy Gord's spirits. I can just hear the jokes flying around and the laughing. What a great family and how rich Gord is.
Video also looked good and encouraging. Sheila, your energy and persistence along with Gord's is a marvel. Bravo!
