Once again time has passed by so quickly that I realized I have not written on the blog for over a month! I notice I start to get more phone calls checking up on us when the blog is not updated so I thank everyone who checks in on us.
Gord has been busy running around in his new "Gord Cart" picking up the mail, visiting neighbours, being a delivery guy and whatever else I can think of to keep him from getting bored. This is a full time job....
We visited a consultant last week who I was hoping would give me more of an update on how Gord is progressing but he basically just said I was doing a good job and not much else. I was looking for some good solid advice on where to go from here and did not really get it so I have turned to other resources. We had an acupuncture treatment 2 days ago and will continue on a weekly basis along with chiropractic help to get the muscles etc. straightened out so perhaps Gord will walk a little better. He still needs to trust his right side for support.
Of course along with the walking etc. we will continue to work on his right arm. Still nothing.
We attended a very bittersweet occasion a few weeks ago when we traveled to a funeral service for a co worker of Gord's at Spartan Controls. He was the same age as Gord and tragically passed away quite soon after a cancer diagnosis. Gord has been deeply affected by this event and rightly so. He questions why he is still alive and others are not. A universal question....I am not equipped to answer...
So as the Summer tries to move along with all it's setbacks of RAIN and more RAIN, we also move along and try to fill the days. I hope everyone is managing to enjoy their Summer holidays...
Take care,
Love
Sheila

ReplyDeleteAloha Gordan & Sheila,
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the pictures and to know that Gordon has found some purpose. Gordon I know how hard it is to have the lost of a good friend and my prayers are with you and his family, know that you are here for a purpose and God's and only God's know the days that are numbered for any of us. I am so glad that you are still here with us. Priase God that he answered our prayers!
Good Afternoon
ReplyDeleteAh Finally an update. Where does the time go. Sorry we have not been for a visit but Leni has been away working most of the summer.
He went fishing at the coast last weekend and had a much earned weekend off. Antonio flew over from Maui and had a great time. Or so I am told.
Fishing was not the best but everyone that went had a good tme.
The new wheels look great Gord. I imagine you will be making your travel plans for the winter soon.
Take Care you two
Sandy and Leni
Aloha Gord & Sheila,
ReplyDeleteYou are all looking great! New babies, new wheels, boat rides, projects, mostly decent weather, hot tub and even a few tennisww balls! Keep that sun on the radar for when the Fab 5 comes tromping in during September weather. Looking forward to spending some time together - love, Su & Ken
