Yet another Aloha Friday

The weeks are just flying by and Spring is almost here. Gord is still steadily improving each day. Apparently today the representative from the Halver Jonson Center is coming to see him. They gave me a pretty liberal time frame for the visit....9am - 9pm. I am sticking around the place today just in case I manage to be present when he arrives. It should/could be an exciting day...but so far it is 1:41pm and no word.
Gord has been experiencing some tingling in his leg today and I couldn't get a clear indication if his arm was involved as well. I hope it was!!!!That is our biggest task now - to preserve the integrity of his right arm until such time that the brain starts to instruct it again. I spoke to one of the best physiotherapists in Calgary this morning and he is willing to guide me on what to do for Gord. We are waiting until next Wednesday to see if he requires a cortisone shot or not.
We are now on a "Regular" diet now so we can eat lunch and dinner in the Cafeteria now on a regular basis. It's good to be classified as "regular".
I don't have much to report today.....the weekend is upon us so we can wander the empty halls and try to fill the days. Visitors are most welcomed on Sat and Sun!
I will leave a note on the door if we are wandering around.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Love
Sheila

PS. We have a representative in Maui as of yesterday. Daughter Andrea and toddler Declan are staying in Unit 607 for the next 10 days or so. You will recognize Declan on the beach by his flaming red curly hair.....stop by and say hi. He is only 17months and is working on perfecting the Aloha Shaka hand sign and doing the Hula.

  2. Hi Gord & Sheila
Great to read of the steady progress being made. You have to be very encouraged and optimistic for what's in store!! Proves all the prayers are being answered and the hard work you've both exhibited pays off!

Hope your weather there improves, hate to tell you it's in the mid 80's here in Scottsdale and can't say we miss the Calgary winter.

Take care, we look forward to each blog entry and are SO pleased by what we see. Miss you both...all our luv & hugs,
    Harris & Carol

  3. Hi Sheilalalala & Gord

Wish that there wasn't such alot of country between us. I think of you both each day as I walk the dogs or try to keep warm and pipes from freezing. I know that you have a guardian angel to protect you both.

Keep up the hard work Sheila, we are all counting on you..
Love and many hugs..I am so proud of the progress you have made Gord.

  4. Aloha S&G, Checked out the Halvar Jonson Centre on Google. Looks like a very nice and competent facility. We had a wonderful time this week with 24 people including Ken & Su at a party we held before going to the Jimmy Buffet concert. We missed you! We will definetly wander down the beach to have a little visit with Declan and Andrea. The whales are starting to head home as most of the owners. The Island is much quieter this year with the recession. Sharliss and I did the whole Hana trip the other day and for some reason couldn't find the church where we wanted to have our lunch!! Showed her pictures of it when we got home. Which leads me to pictures :) I have so many awesome pictures of everyone with Gord. Maybe you could email me and let me know how you'd like me to send them or where. I could go and have prints made very easily if you're making a physical photo album. Sounds like both of you are settling into a routine. I'm sure that makes life much easier. Gord is making such awesome progress it's astonishing! Thoughts and prayers really do work. Keep up the good work Sheila, hope you're taking moments for yourself to recharge. Talk to you soon. Love Evelyn & Richard.
